Tasting Notes
First brewed in 1971, ESB is unrivaled in flavor and balance. A robust 5.5% alcohol by volume in cask (5.9% alcohol by volume in bottles and kegs), it is brewed from Pale Ale and Crystal malts and from Target, Challenger, Northdown and Goldings hops.
Andrew Jefford, the respected UK drinks critic, sums up ESB's flavor thus: "An ample, grainy-nutty aroma and a broad, authoritative flavor, with lashings of dry marmalade-like bitters". Renowned beer connoisseur Roger Protz describes "an enormous attack of rich malt, tangy fruit and spicy hops in the mouth, with a profound Goldings peppery note in the long finish and hints of orange, lemon and gooseberry fruit".

Tasting Notes
London Pride is a smooth and astonishingly complex beer with a distinctive malty base complemented by a rich balance of well-developed hop flavors from the Target, Challenger and Northdown varieties.

Launched in 2009, the Mutiny Fleet showcases unusual beer styles in excess of 8% ABV. These are our biggest and boldest beers. Many are vintage dated and designed for aging like a fine wine. All are bottle conditioned and some unfiltered.
Below Decks Barleywine
Approx. 10% ABV
Our English style barleywine - rich, malty, and opulent. Great at time of release but will benefit from bottle aging for many years to come.
Below Decks Bourbon Oak Aged Barleywine
Approx. 10% ABV
Our award winning barleywine which has been aged two ways - in either wooden bourbon barrels or cabernet barrels. While great at their release, they will evolve with aging. VINTAGE DATED and VERY limited release.
$8.69/22oz bottles
While they last !

Dogfish Head
Theobroma
|
This beer is based on chemical analysis of pottery fragments found in Honduras which revealed the earliest known alcoholic chocolate drink used by early civilizations to toast special occasions. The discovery of this beverage pushed back the earliest use of cocoa for human consumption more than 500 years to 1200 BC. As per the analysis, Dogfish Head's Theobroma (translated into 'food of the gods') is brewed with Aztec cocoa powder and cocoa nibs (from our friends at Askinosie Chocolate), honey, chilies, and annatto (fragrant tree seeds). It's light in color - not what you expect with your typical chocolate beer. Not that you'd be surpised that we'd do something unexpected with this beer!
